This listing is for a Vintage 1997 Hokanson Custom Made Rug / Carpet with a Traditional / Hollywood Regency / Savonnerie / Aubusson / European design , measuring 106 inches by 164 inches or roughly 9 feet by 14 feet ( 8 ft 10 inches x 13 ft 8 inches ) , weighing 68 lbs. net. Hokanson, the Houston-based source for superior custom carpets and rugs , founded by Larry Hokanson in 1987 as a solo operation. Today the company has full-service showrooms in New York, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston, as well as production facilities in Canada and Thailand. The firm enjoys a sterling reputation for both invention and luxury: the house specializes in ornate traditional patterns that reinterpret the lessons of decorative history, worked in exotic yarns. It has been soak washed by a textile conservator multiple times, last of which was on 9/5/19 and it is clean enough to touch face with. It is in excellent as shown condition with three very small soiling like stains , barely noticeable, that have come out for the most part and will most definitely disappear with future washes , along with a row of about 30 knots ( about 2 inches ) on one side towards the end at the very last row at the edge, that knots / hooks are worn , which again is barely noticeable , and can be easily restored to an invisible by a professional familiar with hooking using the same color wool in minutes. The back also has a fading mark on what would be the 1/3 marks as it was previously 3 folded and rolled. This is not a damage rather fading of adhesive material used on back due to sun exposure, and is only on the back . Hokanson Custom Made Rugs of this class hold a specific value and are sought after by dealers and almost always disappear fast.
